Just curious because I see people that have very strong opinions about coasts. Criteria is social ambiance, natural beauty and amenities. What is your preference?
I'll play along since I've never got a chance to respond to one of these before.
In terms of people, I love the East Coast. People are friendly, real, genuine, etc. You can make really good friends with the people on the East Coast.
I find the West Coast way to pretentious and fake. And it's not just a stereotype. People out West are really really like that. I've been out on the West Coast for a few years now, but I don't think I'll ever connect with the people out here.
In terms of business though, the West Coast is the best. The way West Coast companies think and everything is amazing They think very much outside of the box. On the East Coast, every company kind of thinks the same. The West Coast is just more innovative in terms of business. So career wise, it's never a bad bet to stay out West. Any company that is relevant in my field are all based in California.
In my opinion, if it came to settling down or having kids, I would choose the East. But when it comes to the grind, I would prefer the West.
