I am a 23yr old mother. My som is 6 months. I am looking for a new place to start off fresh and give us a new beginning. I grew up in minnesota and left texas before having him. I am in vegas now. I need to find some where I will love and raise my son maybe even find a future husband. Lol I would like recommendations on good states to raise a son. I don't mind cold weather. I kinda want him to see snow. It has to be safe safe safe. Good schools affordable rent. I will be renting an apartment until I finish a program for medical billing and coding that's my goal. A place that I can just grow to love. Lots of activities for him as he get older. Places for me to have adult time too. I have been looking in st Louis but I cant find any good areas besidea Maryland heights. I just want good areas and a comfortable life.
*safe
*good areas
*affordable rent (right now this is the max in a good area $670)
*good school
*kids activities
*friendly people

I'd recommend looking at the Columbus, Ohio area which has decent employment prospects as well. Besides the city itself there are many smaller towns in the area that would fulfill your desire for very safe surroundings. Check out the Worthington area just NW of the city.

I'd perhaps look at areas that fit your criteria with a military presence, perhaps. Maybe some place like Bellevue NE just south of Omaha. It has an Air Base, which means that there may be more men there and Omaha has a low unemployment rate with things to do for families. Papillon and LaVista next door may also work.

Why not reconsider MN, or did you not like MN (or Texas)?

Well, the Columbus and Omaha suggestions are of places outside of those cities and appear to be in line with what you are looking for.

Well... as I posted in your Boston thread of last week what about the father of your son? Why doesn't he have a say in where you take his son?

And in regards to you wanting to "finish a program for medical billing and coding", then I suggest you find the right school first and move there. Once you get your certification, then look for your perfect location to live.

I wouldn't recommend St. Cloud, but the Twin Cities.
