DFW is another option. There are asian grocery stores and shopping around Plano. Economy is good and real estate is cheaper than California. Evening and early morning temps are cooler than Houston.
Great suggestions! Richardson also has large Asian community. Did I mentioned the Pho noodle soup is extremely good in that neighborhood! Most of the real estate is cheap in Dallas except the Highland Park and University Park area.
Atlanta does have a decent size Korean population though (larger than Dallas or Houston) but the OP isn't Korean.
Agree but the Texas area has more Vietnamese populations. Especially Houston partly due to the refugees camp nearby and the weather climate. Thanks for sharing!
Another terrible suggestions given the Vietnamese population in Minneapolis. Plus the weather will be a huge turn off especially given where he is now (California).
Detroit's northern suburbs have a lot of Asian residents; Troy, Novi, Sterling Heights, etc. The schools are ranked well and it's slightly cheaper than Chicago if you're heading to the Midwest.
True, along with Plymouth, Northville and Farmington/Farmington Hills would also work. Plymouth may be nice due to being in between Detroit and Ann Arbor, with the latter also having a sizeable and diverse Asian community.

Actually, St Paul has a big SE Asian population and it extends into the suburbs. Same with other Asian ethnic groups. Weather wasn't mentioned and the OP mentioned Chicago. So, weather may not be a factor.

If you know how to read the list above then you will notice most of the Vietnamese populations are located in a Warmer climate. I think that's why OP mentioned Houston as the first choice himself. I don't see St. Paul in the list above. Perhaps it is your perception not the reality!
