Boston and Massachusetts in general have became large heroin hot-spots since oxy was reformulated, one of the worst in the country. There is specials on TV all the time on Boston, definitely no different then any other big city.
Huge crack problem too. Satellite cities are in much worst shape than Boston (overall).
Also in a lot of the yet to gentrify boston neighborhoods you just can feel the methadone clinic vibe...the crackheads are down from ten years ago but some areas in the inner city have a major drugged out vibe.
Small towns in VT/NH have major drug problems. Seems like it is just accepted as a way to make money for many people.
You don't realize it until you see it first hand. Every other person arrested in our sleepy little towns are either driving drunk or carrying drugs or under the influence when doing other crimes.
For the % of population it's very disturbing. Yet another reason to get out of here.

^^^ This, rather than many of the failed guesses and stereotypical examples provided thus far on the thread. It would appear more rural, cold northern areas of the country are dealing with a significantly higher percentage of drug use than the alleged southern border states.
