In Rochester, where I grew up, definitely Winter.
Normal high temp below 50° from November 14th to April 1st! Normal low temp below 32° from November 21st to March 31st. Normal daily mean below 32° from December 7th to March 5th! And normal snowfall total is 100"/8.33 feet! November thru April would see snow every year, while October and May could see snow in colder years
Now, where I live in Phoenix, definitely Summer
Normal high temps 75°+ from March 3rd thru November 24th. Normal low temps 60°+ from April 13th thru October 31st. And I couldn't be happier
Summer. I dread passing the winter solstice because I know summer will be here sooner than I want. Beastly hot weather in July and August. Part of June and September as well. I have just quit liking hot weather as I get older. 90 isn't too bad really if it falls down to 70 at night. But those 100s and 80 in the morning about kill me.
Depends on what you mean. I'm in the South, so summer is technically far longer than winter.
At the same time, December, January, and February feel like forever to me. Yeah, there's the holidays to get me through December. And there are the NFL playoffs to get me through January.
But then you get to February. February. The month that's shorter by a few days, and mercifully so. The hell with February. It's just January, Part II.
Then early March comes. Buds start coming out. Then the glory that's April, May, and June. July and August are awfully nice, too, as long as you know how to cope with the heat. September is a bit of a drag. Then you have the perfection of October and the first half of November.
Then there's freaking December, January, and February again. When I start mentioning the purchase of a villa in the Caribbean to MrsCPG. She just rolls her eyes. But I'll eventually get my way.
Summer. Not to say we don't have change of seasons cuz we definitely do, but the heat lasts way longer than the cold.
Yep, same here in the Tyler, Texas area. It's above 85 consistently from late May through October.
But we have some of the best winters around so to me the trade off is worth it.
Like they say, here in Texas we have four seasons: Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer, and Christmas.
Actually having been born and raised in the South and mid Atlantic region, I am not even uncomfortable till the temps get in the mid 90s and the humidity is out the roof, so I consider the weather around here to be great for 9 months out of the year.
