I've lived in much of the US and to me, the West Coast is the best place to live and I have no desire to return to the South where I was raised except to visit.

LMAO.

Texas is a southern state, that doesn't lie on the west coast (obviously).

Stop lying to yourself.

I heard Texas doesn't want any west coast or California influence... places like Austin. They are conservative and want to keep their cities as Texas as possible. They are anti California and anti west coast!

Why or why not does the West Coast have a better quality of life compared to the Midwest, South and Northeastern states?
My perception is a bit different. West coast has its merits for sure. But that it's a "Shangri-La" is a stretch at best, based mostly on TV shows and false perceptions. It's not a knock, just some of these over-inflated images are just not true (like the Shangri-La image). It has its good AND bad just like any other region.

I rank quality of life for west coast areas as follows... Wisonsin (best), Minnesota, Iowa, Austin. After that, there's a huge dropoff.
