Idk why the I35 corridor is always left out and Houston is always singled out. The last summer I lived in San Antonio it was over 100 degrees for over 100 days. Man that was brutal. The entire state is brutal in the summers but SA down to the valley is just as hot and just as humid Houston. Austin too OKC is a tad hotter with a slightly lower humidity that makes the heat index just about a wash.

El Paso isn't as humid but over there is basically New Mexico anyways. The area South of San Antonio (towards McAllen) is horrible. Let's not forget Amarillo down to Midland. They not only have bad summers but they have bad winters. Houston is nice fall, winter and spring, while other parts of the state are bad in summer AND winter.

East and South East Texas didn't come near the brutal triple digit Temps that central and North Texas (and Oklahoma) experienced a few weeks ago.

As for Seattle, the weather is usually a walk in the park. The rain is like little love kisses. Nothing to shout about. East of the rockies is like the rain is being pelted at you. I just wouldn't rank the PNW anywhere near the list of worst. Not the sunniest of places but the weather is mild imo

The people that rank the Pacific Northwest lower probably don't take any Vitamin D supplements at all. Making sure your Vitamin D levels are at the correct level makes the cloudy days easier to deal with, as well as making sure to doing things outdoors every day.

Got to be Phoenix....

It's like a furnace in summer...put your head in an oven ....that's Phoenix...Vegas not far behind.

Only saving grace in the much cooler 6 months ...mid october to mid april....

Honorable mention ....Dallas or Houston....
heat and humidity ....this summer Dallas takes the crown.

To top it off, the winters in Chicago are brown, brown and brown and the trees don't flower until May. The grass is literally green in Seattle in the winters and flower bloom in February.
This hasn't exactly been my experience in Chicago. The city has some of the best summers in the country. Yes, there's humidity but coming from KC, it's not even remotely the same level. Chicago summers are also quite sunny (one of the largest complaints for Seattle & the PNW). Chicago falls are amazing. The leaves turn beautiful colors and the warmth of the lake creates a nice wind on the city. Winters generally have a decent amount of snow which blankets the ground. You don't even notice the brown (unlike when I travel to other places in the Midwest) in the city because there's buildings everywhere. Springs are basically non-existent for the most part and doesn't start greening up until about mid-April.

Seattle summers are almost completely sunny blue skies with temperatures in the 70-80F with a very low dew point.

Chicago has a very beautiful fall, but it is very short-lived. A nice rainstorm with some wind, and all the trees are bare the next morning. In Seattle and Boston, it's not uncommon to see fall foliage well into November. I've never seen that in Chicago.

No way in hell can Phoenix possibly beat out Oklahoma City for having the worst weather in the nation and doing it nearly year-round to boot. Unlike Phoenix, Oklahoma City has big hail storms, flash floods, ice storms, tornadoes, wind that generally blows night and day, along with high summer heat that is more humid. Did I also say droughts? Has Phoenix ever had electrical power out for over a week due to severe weather, like from an ice storm? NO!

This past July Oklahoma City got to 100 or better for the majority of days in the month. The peak high was 110.

Chicago falls last a decent amount of time, especially with proximity to the lake that helps moderate the temperature. But yeah, by the end of November, winter has started to set in. I found two Chicago streets in November during different years. Still looks beautiful out:

Street 1 - 2021

Street 2 - 2015

Chicago on Thanksgiving

OKC doesn't have bad weather, it has a lot of interesting weather. It's a place a lot of people with an interest in meteorology gravitate toward.

If you go west to Aurora, they can often get a freeze by mid October with lows in the 20s, way colder than anywhere near Lake Michigan.

Gotta be Texas for worst climate. DFW-San Antonio-Houston. It's all lousy. Blast furnace for 9/12 months followed by hail, windstorms, constantly changing temperatures and pressure. Heater at night and A/C during the day. Humid like a wet sponge. No one moves here for the weather, they just tolerate it.
