In Charlotte NC I'm not so sure. Vinegar based BBQ is popular here but was not invented here. There NC burgers which have chilli on them. The restaurant bojangles is from here, as is the grocery store Harris teeter and they have the biggest best subs I've ever had at a chain grocery store, except for there philly, it sucks
For Seattle I'd have to say it would be Dungeness Crab (straight from Dungeness, WA) and various local oysters or the Seattle-style Hot Dog with cream cheese and sriracha.
My city doesn't have a signature dish since it excels at all dishes. So I'll bring my specialty... hot dog & fish bleu cheese soup and a side of microwaved lean hotpockets.
4. Taco Pizza (Taco pizza is just one of the many delicious foods born in Iowa. The first taco pizza was served by Happy Joe's, and since then, it's become a classic which has been re-created by countless pizzamakers - though Happy Joe's still does it best.
5. Breakfast Pizza (Another food invention born in Iowa is the breakfast pizza, most notably, the Casey's breakfast pizza. Once you've had it, you'll keep coming back for more).
I miss Casey's pizza since I left the Midwest. The breakfast slices here just aren't Casey's.
