Now I've Noticed my state has A TON of cities named after famous cities.
Some of them were created before others but we'll assume they weren't

Many western cities and towns are named for the places their settlers came from in the east/midwest. Some of the midwestern towns are named for places back east. Some of the eastern towns are named for places in Europe. Example: Lyons Twp, Ill named for Lyons, NY, named for Lyons, France. Aurora, CO named for Aurora, Ill named for Aurora NY. Many others. There are lots of places in the Chicago area named for places in upstate NY.
