Well, well, well. The racist viewpoint I knew was behind the majority of these posts of South/North comes out. Welcome to ignore for sure, nothing worth reading has come out of your computer yet and from this statement I am sure there will not be in the future either. And no, I am not African American and I am not voting for Obama.

Actually, Richmond was split on that. 50% Kerry 50% Bush. Virginia overall is still a red state, maybe in pockets it is purple. But lets face it- we are closer to the North and have more Northeast liberals here now than any other Southern state- with the exception of North Carolina.

What does race have to do with this?? This is liberal vs. conservative.

This is precisely why I left. Welcome to the 21st century...it's catching up to you whether you like it or not.

P.S. if I vote for Obama, it's only as the lesser of two evils. I'm pretty libertarian, politically. I just can't stand social conservatism. Hopefully I'll live long enough to see it die.

Lesser of the 2 evils. Fine, if you like socialism and big brother.
I think we've gotton way off topic, lol

Back to my subject- you said Atlanta was 9 hours from Richmond. I drive about regular speed and I was there in 8 hours. Yes, Richmond is closer to NYC
but Richmond is closer to Charleston, SC than Atlanta- and Charleston is FURTHER SOUTH than Atlanta, lol

Default It's called Bosington

BosWash - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is the megalopolis that stretches from Boston to D.C. (which includes the Virginia side of D.C.).

The Southern border of Boswash on the Virginia side is once you get out of Fairfax and Loudon counties. This is debatable.

Thats just because DC is a large city. Its not the cultural aspects of Virginia vs. the North.

And only the tiny portion of NOVA is part of that "Megalopolis".

It's better to use distance rather than subjective driving times.

From Richmond:

NYC: 334 mi
Atlanta: 521 mi

I'm no fan of socialism, but it beats a theocracy any day. Big brother is already here, like it or not. He's been coming incrementally for years, but GW brought it in full force.

Atlanta is further west- thats why its further to drive you see? Charleston is further south yet closer in distance to Richmond.

Yes, most of Virginia is exempt from this category.

However, the vast majority of Virginia's wealth is generated in the Northern section of the state.

This creates a favorable clash of cultures for someone like me.

For example, thanks to the vast majority of Virginia that is rural, I can openly carry a hand gun into any store in Tyson's corner and it's perfectly legal to do so.

Try that in D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Baltimore etc.
