That's sad. it's just because in our country it's also all 4 seasons and winter is really cold. Seldom, but it can be even till -25C, so she wanted a place were she could not be dressed warm all the time.
And what do you think about California?

califrornia is a great choice...but stay out of the major cities and look at suburan areas or smaller towns. the californians should be able to help you pick a good town (if you can pick the town).

I'm hesitant though, I think the south east part of the country could be harder for her to get used to, and harder for students to get used to her if they are not used to outsiders. California is generally more accepting of outsiders and other cultures.

Send her to Texas, maybe Austin or San Antonio. If it's grade 12 and a high school she'll be attending, then it doesn't matter where in America she goes as the curriculum is basically the same.
You might also consider Arkansas, Alabama, South Carolina, or one of the southern states as it's warmer and people are very nice.
Just tell her not to eat too much. I knew a lot of exchange students growing up in high school who went back to Europe chubby!
I think that she would make friend anywere, just I want to find a better place, where she would like the most. Really important are of course people. In Europe it'salso so, as warmes is the country, as nicer and warmer are people.
I never thought about Arkansas, Alabama and South Carolina. May be i'll try to find some information about it, and decide than.
About her figure i can be sure, that she is going to look after herself. She always says that "you should not look good, but look great"

I heard that in south part of the country,in some cities, there you would most probably talk spanish, is it so? What does the real USA experience mean?

Ive spent time with a lot of foreigners....going out west and such. There is the whole cowboy thing, the history, route 66....the stuff you see on tv.
my friends from holland really enjoyed arizona, colorado, california...etc, that is what I mean byt "usa experience" I dont know how better to explain it. A lot of places in the midwest and south...geographically will look similiar to eruope (hilly or flat, green, etc.) the west is different and more exotic.
All us states, english is the major language. There are a lot of Mexican immigrants in California so people may have told you there is a lot of spanish spoken. I can assure you, any hich school will be taught in engilsh.
There are good and bad parts of california, that is why I would recommend staying out of the urban areas (As high schools tend to be a nicer experience outside of the urban centers).
People in california can help you find a nice town. I would think something in the bay area or the central coast would be nice. She wants to see america give her the best! Its not like she is buying a home, she doesnt need to worry about expensive homes (why most people are so negative about california).
The south....no, I would NOT recommend arkansas for an exhange student, she would not be happy if she travelled all that way to go to arkansas. Arkansas is okay but not a destination for a first time traveller to the US. A teenager will not be impressed with the inland south. I'm not putting down Arkansas but being realistic. Also she could meet some very closed minded people there....stick to the coasts if your going to go southeast US.
South carolina, or florida would probably be acceptable to her.
We'll think about that. And what are the main differences between South carolina, Florida and CA?

South Carolina and Florida will have more in common with each other because they are in the same general US region. California is on the other coast so naturally it will be different in a lot of ways.
Florida is hot and muggy in the summer (as is South Carolina). Very humid! But the beaches are very nice and the flowers and palm trees very nice, lots of exotic wildlife. Florida is filled with people from all over the country so it is more diverse (many people have moved there or retired there because it is a vacation destination). Your daughter would be less out of place on the coasts in the southeast like florida/south carolina/north carolina because people from all over move to those places. The inland south can be very isolated....not very diverse and not neccessarily warm either (like your daughter wants). South Carolina and North Carolina get chilly or cold in the winter but at least there are nice beaches nearby and mountains (small mountains, but still mountains).
California is almost a country in itself. There are places in California that have all four seasons. Basically, California is also a place where many different people live and most people are from another place originally (in the US or even another country). Suburban and rural areas tend to be less diverse but still more accepting of outsiders than other places might be in the US. California is beautiful...always near an ocean beach or mountains. But you would probably want to avoid Los Angeles. There are nice places in Los Angeles I just would not recommend a 12th grader from another country have to deal with urban issues and finding her way around there. Maybe some of the beach communities near Los Angles would be better...suburban areas with better schools. Northern California is rather different from southern california and would be a great experience for her I think....but she may not want to come home Many people on these forums speak negativley of california because of the cost of living. It is an expensive place to live...but a great place to visit. If you avoid inner cities it is generally a safe place to visit too....just the same as all the other states....and its also warm most of the time.
Texas might also be a fun experience....

Many people on these forums speak negativley of california because of the cost of living. It is an expensive place to live...but a great place to visit. If you avoid inner cities it is generally a safe place to visit too....just the same as all the other states....and its also warm most of the time.
