And why?

Feel free to include international cities, but make that a separate list.

Off the top of my head.

Sitka, Alaska - For the unique Russian aspect and because I like the cold. (I'm hoping we're taking a broad view of "cities")

York, Maine - As it's one of the oldest towns in America.

Billings, Montana - I believe it was Billings. Anyway because of a documentary I saw about how they rallied around some synagogue during a wave of Neo-Nazi hate crime. (Granted it'd be better if they never had such crimes, but I still found it inspiring)

Knoxville, Tennessee - Because I want to see if the sunsphere really contains wigs and if so why. (Okay not an entirely serious choice)

Spokane, Washington - Because I read an article about it as a kid and it stuck with me.

On international cities I'd like to visit

Salzburg, Austria - History of music related
Xi'an - I mean if the political situation were different.
Auckland, New Zealand - NZ sounds neat.
Torshavn, Faroyar - Small and cool in an unusual place.
Galway, Ireland - Low crime, near an Irish Gaelic speaking area.

This is somewhat off-the-cuff.
