We want to move to the states next July, my husband is taking a sabatic year and we want our 2 daughters to learn English...
We would like to do it all, go skiing, see the color change in the fall, golf, go to football and beisball games, not to far from a big city, a white christmas, any suggestions where we could go??? Of course, safe and not too expensive.

Assuming by your post you don't want to be in a big city, but want to be near one, there are lots of possibilities that meet your criteria. Off the top of my head, the Hudson Valley in NY, southern VT & NH, western MA, eastern PA, most of OH, Chicago suburbs, southeastern WI, just to name a few!

Other areas to consider would be the Colorado Front Range, Oregon & Washington.

If you want a safe area with a white Christmas and the most spectacular fall colors, try New England. It's quaint and very close to Boston and New York, depending on where you are in the region.
