Hello, I am looking to move somewhere else in GA. I currently live in a small town about an hours drive or so away from Valdosta. I have recently become a single mom, with 2 kids ages 9 & 12 that will be coming with me and a third going to college in middle GA. I have no idea where to go as far as county or towns, I just need to get out of this area, can any of you guys help??

(I have read a lot of people suggesting Gwinnet and Cobb county in other threads. I know Roswell is supposed to be great but they sound expensive)

Here is a list of some things that would be nice to have, but I know it'd be pretty impossible to get all of those so I'm flexible.

Adequate schools
small-ish town or city (I don't know if I would be able to adjust to big city life)
cheap housing/rental properties
good neighborhood
low crime
cities are not too much of a drive away
progressive
culturally diverse
I'm a CNA but I know there are nursing homes in any county. If there's something you would like to mention, such as, "there are no jobs for CNA's here" that would be appreciated.
Not too far far from middle ga so I can visit my daughter. (too far would be 5+ hours of driving) but feel free to make suggestions even if it is above that amount of time!
I am Hispanic, but not an illegal immigrant, I do have an accent and I would like somewhere that isn't too prejudiced

I'm ready for a fresh start with my kids, any advice is much appreciated!

Thank you for reading!

I hate to sound cliche, but a lot of what you're asking depends on your personal situation, and I think you will need to make some choices or compromises.

Typically, "cheap housing/rental properties" along with "low crime" in a "good neighborhood" with "adequate schools" together with "progressive" and "culturally diverse" in a "small-ish town" would be hard to find.

You may find some of these, but probably not all of them. You may have to pay more to get the "low crime" and better schools, or you may need to live in a more urban setting if you want "progressive" and "culturally diverse."
