I'm going to be taking a road trip in half a year, and I'm going through a few states like: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, etc. Would love to stop by cute southern small towns (I'm THAT person) on the way. Can't get enough of the country life! Being a native Texan, I know next to nothing about country towns in other states.

And I'm talking country like: farms, ranches, cowboys walking around with skoal rings-- Not richer neighborhoods with great "scenic views."

Also, hoping to maybe find some great property to move into down the road. Thank you!

Southern Georgia will have similarities to Texas outside of Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, etc.... Everyone will be small, only one "real" city (Savannah) and a handful of medium sized cities (Albany, Valdosta) and smaller ones (Statesboro, Tifton, Thomasville, etc, etc). The rest will be small town... some larger, some smaller. So much like East Texas in size of towns and amount of land in between them.

South Georgia is the most agricultural part of the state. Hard to pinpoint one specific area that would be much different than another. Let your meandering lead you to a place that works. I love that kind of travel, you can find some nice surprises that way.

One of my favorite drives to take is Hwy 60 up from Dahlonega thru Suches and Morganton over to Blue Ridge .It is a mountainous beautiful drive that takes you through some absolutely beautiful farm land and a long the Toccoa river .

North GA is way more scenic and beautiful, but many farms are more in central or South GA. The Toccoa area is very beautiful, it is in northeast GA near South Carolina and NC. My favorite south GA town is Thomasville, and it has historical older homes.

On of my favorite little towns (stuck in time) that does not have a lot going on in is Talbotton in central GA, but around there more people would hunt than farm. People in these towns near Columbus are generally really nice. You could take scenic routes Hwy 19 or 41 if that area interests you. For small towns in central GA the ones going towards Savannah are more historical where Colonial GA had developed. I liked visiting Sparta with its homes from the early 1800s, but it is in the middle of nowhere.

South Georgia is beautiful in its own right. Check out Americus, Plains (Jimmy Carter's hometown), Andersonville (infamous civil war prison now a national cemetery), Lumpkin (Westville and the Little Grand Canyon) and from there head up to Columbus (not small) and Pine Mountain (Callaway Gardens and Warm Springs, the home of FDR's "Little White House"). Great spots.
