Does anybody know where you can find a list of county regulations for building a home in harris county, or talbot county? My husband and I are wanting to buy land to have a home built. We are new to the area and we;ve heard that harris country requires that you have a minimum of 2 acres to be allowed to build. On the other hand, we've found a neighborhood in Waverly Hall (not sure if its harris or talbot, multiple real estate websites have different info) that is selling ploits of land that are on .75 -1 acre plots. We'd prefer to only have .75-1 acre but I dont want to buy a plt of land only to find out that I am not allowed to build a house on it.

Thanks for your help.

Check with local city hall; they will help you or forward you to the code enforcement/inspection dept.

Their ordinances state a disctrict (zone) must be at least 4 acres. That has nothing to do with building a house.

They require 5 acres to build if you have an easement........

*DO* Check this locally!
