Can anyone give me information about the area including Warm Spring, Raleigh, Manchester and Pine Mountain? We are thinking of moving from Florida and have horses so we are looking for property (10 or so acres) and close proximity to trails. However, we don't want to end up in the boonies with no grocery stores.
Thanks.

It's VERY rural and land is pretty cheap. The people tend to be close minded and clickish though. My aunt and uncle moved there from Buckhead in Atlanta and found that the difference was like night in day, in the atmosphere and culture. But if you don't mind that then go for it. Oh, and the closest grocery store is an inges in pike County. All of the other places to do stuff are over 30 minutes away.

Default moving with horses

Have you considering Alpharetta. It has some beautiful horse farms. You may also want to consider Canton, Japer, Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Depending on what your looking for, these may be great options for you. Of course, it varies by how much land you'd like to own and how much you'll consider paying for it. I have 2 horses and board then close by at a friends barn. If I can answer any other questions, let me know.

You'll love the Pine Mountian area. Its small but only about 25 miles to Columbus. I would recomend you take a 2 day trip to Callaway Gardens located in Pine Mountian. Tour the area and see for yourself.

Thank you for the information. I will check into these towns. Are they close to trails? We ride every weekend and don't want to drive two hours to get to trails. Thanks again.

F.D. Roosevelt State Park is 5 miles east of Pine Mountian and is Georgia's largest state park. It boasts one of the best hiking trails, over 23 miles, in the Southeast. Also some nice horse trails to. This website gives more info.
