Default Relocating close to a Lake. Need Help

Hello all, Looking to relocate to GA from NC. I will be commuting to Two Ravinia Drive, Atlanta office each day. I hear that Lake Lanier is a great place to go but the housing is $$$$! Been thinking about Duluth area, but do not know much about it. If anyone has any better ideas please let me know. I need to know the good and bad of each area and how the commute will be to my work place. Now for the requirements:

- My wife works for Lowes Home Improvement so need to be somewhat near one of them.
- We have a 3 year old son that is currently going to Primrose Day Care and would like to keep him in this chain if possible. If not, then a very safe 5 star Day Care as another option.
- Somewhere safe to live in a good area with nearby shops.
- Close to the lake for weekend get-a-ways on our boat.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

PS. Would love to hear from other Wake Boarders/skiers.

I am neither, but I like to fish. If you are looking for wakes, Lanier is the place for you. From 60' yachts to thousands of jet ski's, Lanier is the wake capital of the state. Lake Oconee near Eatonton would be a boat rockin' second with Sinclair near Milledgeville a wave crashing third.
Good luck... and please honor the distance between watercraft laws!!!

Relocate to the Roswell area. You are 15 minutes from the lake, also not too far to Lake Allatoona. Roswell has a wide range of housing prices, some of the best schools, lots to do for families and a Lowe's on Mansell Rd.
also great parks and recreational facilities.
If you go further up into Forsyth County, you will be closer to the lake, but possbily further from other things. You can check out South Forsyth- Cumming area ...
