No i really dont understand why you NEED an amendment which allows ANYONE to hoard a load of firearms when most of the other countries of the world do not.
First, the second amendment is there so that citizens can protect the rest of their rights. We only have our rights because the government swears to uphold them. If we were disarmed, and the government decided that the 4th amendment no longer applies, we are essentially powerless to show otherwise. With the second amendment, the government is guaranteed to fear its people.
"Most other countries?" Which ones? Many nations have gun-regulation, some strict and others not, without any reliable measure of crime. If anything, this should make it abundantly clear that guns are not the problem. Switzerland has mandated service, and men are required to keep their firearms in their homes. Canada had a huge surge in firearm ownership recently, especially handguns, without measurable increase in crime.
Just cant understand all the obsession over firearms just WHY need something thats capable of killing people so easily?? dont say you need guns to overthrow government thats ridiculous the people of a country can easily topple a government with ease if they so wish to. truth is most government are as good as your gunna get.

You're right, the American Revolution was won with kind words and a couple of games of Chess. (somebody better get this factual claim).
If you don't have guns, you'll have long-bows, arrows, swords, knives, clubs, and other varieties of bludgeon objects. Omaha points out that people have been killing each other for centuries before firearms were invented, and they will be doing so for long after.

"With ease"? It took the countries of Eastern Europe 40 years to make any headway, and several efforts during that 40 years were crushed by the people with the guns.
yes true you can still kill people just not as EASILY and you cant accidently kill someone with a book or a baseball bat or knife you can easily with a gun im sure people have stated before theirs a big statistic on accidental gun deaths. I just find it sad that people feel the need to carry a personal arsenal of guns to feel safe.
Make a list of countries that have gun laws the same as the US and then compare it to all the other countries in the world. China,Japan,Sweden,Germany,UK etc all have very strict gun laws practically allowing no use of firearms whatsoever and all these countries seem to have better or same crime rates as the US. So what is need of having guns for?

Hey Sparky, why won't you answer the questions you've been repeatedly asked?
You know DavveyBoyy might have a point. If we're getting rid of outdated and obsolete Amendments let's get rid of at least part of the First. After all no one reads newspapers (the press) any longer we have the internets. And how about eminent domain? Don't need that protection.
