Our Constitution is just fine. The failure of our elected representatives to follow it lies upon ourselves.

I do see two amendments that would be helpful:

1) A balanced budget amendment.

2) Ammending the "birthright citizenship" to pertain to only those whose parents (at least 1) are US citizens; thus ending the immigration incentive of "anchor babies".

Your ammendment about birthright citizrnship has a flaw that could give millions of people who were born overseas, know nothing of our language and culture instant US citizenship with the right to get help from the US to go to their new home. This is because for whatever reason he or she is the result of some American having sex with the locals. Americans have been doing this throughout our history and some nations have more of these unions often out of wedlock than others.

"general welfare" was never intended to do everything for everyone. It was intended for the gov't to do what the citizens couldn't practically do for themselves.

Correct, but not complete.

It was intended for the Federal Government to do only what neither the states nor the people could do for themselves, e.g. coining money, raising army, extablishing post offices and road, declaring war.

As I read it, the "general welfare" phrase is in an article that authorizes taxation, but speaks nothing about spending.
