It doesn't seem like a debatable topic to me. I don't see how anyone couldn't figure that historical racism has played a huge role in the current situation of the black community. A debatable topic would address what should be done about it.
My claim is that that the socioeconomic inequality that exists today, between blacks and whites, is the product of past and present racism. That is the argument that I will be defending.
.
I don't win anything. I said MY POSITION wins. If my position wins....then so does the integrity and image of black people. My postion is in defense of the equal humanity and capacity of black people. Its not about me as an individual. If one accepts that premise of black equal humanity and capacity, then what explains black poverty being 3 times that of whites, black unemployment being 2 times more than whites, black wealth being over 10 times less than whites, black homicides being 8 times more than whites....etc.
There are a lot of obfuscation centered replies. This is just as I predicted. Most people don’t really want to have a REAL debate on the issue because they know that their position is simply based upon emotions and “snap shot” reasoning based upon point-in-time observations in which they apply no explanation. In other words, they know their argument is not tenable. People want to have an emotional argument that they can walk away from as ignorant as when the arrived to it……not an intellectual debate that potentially leads to personal growth. Without logical fallcies.....they have no argument. Without the ability to denigrate the messenger.....they cannot discredit the message.
I rest my case. My position wins by forfeit.
1. That whole post is pure trolling
2. Only a judge decides which position wins the debates.
3. The highlighted sentence is a generalization fallacy on so many levels.
4. The sentence after that is a logical fallacy.
5. The sentence after that is a logical fallacy.
Again....its obvious to me that people do not want to have this structured intellectual debate. There is nothing but obfuscation going on here. Its like gambling. You cannot lose if you don't play. None of you are confident in your position....and fear the implication of what it means to be on the losing end. Really....the way people have responded to the challenge is more demonstrative than having actual debates.
I would like to extend an invitation to a debate on the subject of race and the black condition and the role white society has played in the condition of today. I will only debate ONE individual, although all will be free to respond to any post. I will only respond to the person who is chosen as my debate rival, however.
I would like all who have, as a general rule, dissented against my thesis, my premise, my inference or my conclusions to volunteer for this debate. I will choose the person who has the highest reputation points as the person I will debate. We can work together to establish the ground rules of the debate. I would like to employ a list of logical fallacies as a means of discrediting a point or counter point. Terms used need to have objective working definitions established. No name calling, no insults, no hyperbole, no ad hominem, obfuscation, filibustering, digression or misdirection. Any use of such means that your point is not tenable.
All are welcome to volunteer. There are no absolutes in this debate. There is truth in most points; the question is which point is the greater truth often. Hence, the quest is to find the greater truth, if not the absolute truth, in this debate and which debater employs it. There is no time limit to this debate.

I'll debate with you if you want to. I would like to rephrase the claim, though, so it fits a debate format to: "Worse socioeconomic statistical positions of black population is caused almost entirely by racism".
Would you agree to such claim?

Huh? What's a statistical position? I know English isn't your first language, so maybe you could rephrase it.

Sorry about that. Maybe you can help me out here. Here's what i meant:
there's statistics, right? say some country ranks # by GDP. What do you call that?
Countries can also rank by population, size, etc, that's why i put it in plural.
What's the correlation between agreeing with you and you coming off as someone condescending?
How can you objectively decide what's true, when we're not talking about absolutes?
If you felt my post didn't warrant a reply, why did you?
How is it that you can't see the difference between excluding all other posters and filtering out the posts that you find interesting to answer, though not limiting yourself to one poster?
As for your continuous effort to grasp for your straw man theory, I merely said that's how I felt you were coming off (which is subjective, you cannot argue my perception of you), I also apologized if this was not correct, I'm not sure how that fits in.

You are debating my commentary......not my premise, inference and conclusion on the specific claim of the cause of black socioeconomic equality today.
I have made no supporting defense of my proposition for you to refute. You would have to offer a counter thesis to mine.
