Yes that too. I also leave my cell phone charger plugged in all the time.

I do like hanging the wash outside, but I worked really hard to create this mecca for all the neighborhood birdies ...

Using the dryer saves time and energy (my own and otherwise); if I hung the clothes outside, I'd just have to wash them again.

What's with all these neighborhood rules? That's the best thing about small towns. If you want a clothes line, stick it out there! When I was single that was the only way I dried my clothes, except in winter. I went to the laundromat to wash and bring them home to hang out on the line. I could get up very early and go wash, then hang them out on the line to dry. By the time I got home from work the clothes were dry and fresh smelling.

I love to see clothes hung out in the country. I don't hang them out since we are in the woods and not sure how long it would take to dry. I have hung some things on hangers from the trees.
Someone was saying something about the dryer lint...I've always wondered what we can do with all that???? Just think how much lint is thrown away. I bet the birds could make nests from that. Any ideas on uses???

DRYING FOR FREEDOM is a film about our right to protect the planet in our own homes. It explores the story of our love affair with electricity and how outdoor clothes drying is now banned in many places, revealing those who are battling for their right to save energy and the planet. DRYING FOR FREEDOM also reveals how corporate America sold the dream of electric bliss in the 1950’s, reinforces outdoor clothes bans, and investigates what will happen if developing nations like India start consuming on an American scale and adopt similar habits as those forced on American homes.
With all filming and editing complete, the team need to raise $25,000 (£15,500) to fund post-production, archive and music copyright clearances before the film can be released. We hope that you agree that drying clothes naturally thereby saving energy and reducing carbon emissions is an important message and that if we all make small changes to our consumption habits, we can fight to stop wasteful emissions and slow global warming. Please support the film by visiting www.indiegogo.com/dryingforfreedom or search for DRYING FOR FREEDOM online and help us ensure that our future is hanging on a line.

Condo rules prevent wash lines. Use electric dryer or indoor drying rack.

I dont care about global warming, i use a clothesline because it is free. Why use electric when it is 95 degrees out. I dried new sheets on the line yesterday, they were dry in about a half hour. Why would anyone use a dryer and waste gas and electric when the air dries for free.....and as far as convenient, you still have to fold them, so other than hanging them, what is the big deal........

As long as it' s not humid.

Nothing worse than musty smelling clothes/towels/sheets from the line that stink.

I prefer using a gas/electric dryer because it's more hygienic, I don't give a rip for people seeing my underwear hanging outside on the line, I don't mind saving a buck but that is taking it a little too far. It's 2011, not 1911.
