Logging doesn't hurt the forest. Trees are a renewable resource. In fact, good forestry practices make for a healthier forest.

Nobody is saving the earth by not using wood products. If the forests aren't maintained (which is done with forestry), they burn. When they burn, soot is deposited on the glaciers and the black color draws heat and causes the glaciers to melt.

So, by blocking forest management, all the tree huggers have been harming the environment.

PBS just ran a special on the latest study. It would probably come up with google.

I haven't had a problem with the quality of Seventh Generation TP/PT. Walgreens has a store line of TP & PT which are made from bamboo & sugarcane husk, also of good quality.

Charmin Ultra. I'm pretty sure all toilet paper is required to dissolve in septic/sanitary sewer systems. That's all the eco-friendly I need.

Forestry is smart and necessary.

from the article.............

"More than 98 percent of the toilet paper we use in the US is from virgin forests, the Guardian reports. Across the world, people are struggling to save our forests from deforestation, and instead of helping out, we're wiping are butts with our best defense against climate change. And until the time comes when Obama gets Congress to pass a TP Act, Greenpeace has some help for consumers, with a handy guide for getting some good toilet paper that won't harm the environment."

That is a flat out lie. The only "virgin" forests left in the US are protected in National Parks and National Forests.

The problem in the US is that we have "epidemic of trees". Each year we burn more trees in forest fires than we harvest.

Trees are a renewable resource. We have an more trees than is healthy for most forested ecosystems found in the US.

Shame on Greenspeace.

I buy "septic safe" toilet paper for the house and the RV. That, IMO, is the most important thing, it must not damage a septic tank or drain field.
