My husband and I are in the market for a new dining set -- not a formal set, but something more casual for our breakfast area. We'd like to buy a set made domestically, and were thinking about taking a trip out to the High Point area to see if we can find anything. Any suggestions of stores that have a good selection of US made furniture?

Thanks!

Take a little bit longer ride up to Galax, Virginia

Maurice Vaughan Furniture Inc

One of the few American furniture companies who still make furniture. Their bedroom furniture is really pretty and was featured on the ABC evening news a while back on their "Made in America" series.

Unfortunately LM is correct-- there aren't a whole lot of domestic case goods (wood) furniture manufacturers left. Vaughn-Bassett and Century are a couple I can think of, and I know there are a number of smaller niche companies out there. Most any furniture store can help you find domestic producers. If you're coming to High Point, here's a helpful link: North Carolina Furniture Directory featuring famous name brand furniture at discount prices direct from the manufacturers outlets and discount furniture stores including High Point NC furniture outlets

Craftique on US 70 in Mebane. They make a lot of formal furniture, but may have other styles.

The sales staff at Furnitureland South can tell you which brands are American made, also check into Stickley, their products are heirloom quality.

Take a look at Mitchell Gold+Bob Williams. We have a slipcovered sofa and chairs made by them that are wonderful. All the furniture is made in Taylorsville, NC, I believe. I know they have an outlet in Hickory (not been there).
