I'm currently with Time Warner Cable for my internet service. So far, I haven't been thrilled with them. I don't expect to have speeds constantly at my max download (20mbps) but I do expect to be somewhat close the majority of the time.
My question is, what other alternatives do I have to choose from with ISPs in Greensboro, NC? It might be that I'm already with the best company for internet, but I was just curious as to who else is available.
A Greensboro-High Point area friend of mine gets her Internet service from North State Communications and is very pleased with them. She had Time Warner-Triad before that and signal reliability was miserable. After a couple of years with TW, she gave up.

I had the same problem with TWC; paid for 15 mbps ran about 9-10 most of the time.
When AT&T Uverse became available I made the switch. We pay for 18mbps and it bumps right around 16-17 most of the time and costs less.
AT&T offers DSL but higher speeds are not available. You can also check into a wireless provider or hack into your neighbor's router.

Northstate service is not available in Greensboro.
Depends on the specific residential address. North State Comm. is available in some areas of High Point, Thomasville, Archdale, Randleman, Jamestown, Trinity, Greensboro and Kernersville.

Unless the OP is living in the southwest corner of Greensboro the chance of getting Northstate service is nominal.
I would be stunned if you were in their service area, you can go to their website and enter your address.
I just checked both the AT&T service and the Northstate service and my address doesn't qualify for either one. So, it looks like I'm stuck with Time Warner for now.

Northstate exaggerates their coverage area info IMO, but I hate you're stuck with TWC.
