At any rate, I don't think I've seen as much competition for jobs among states since....I don't even know.
Amazing what a stagnet (sp?) employment rate/economy will do huh?

Indeed, while it would be good for Gboro, it is still a win/win as long as they locate in NC

When comparing Charlotte and Greensboro, Greensboro has another key advantge....more land. From what I understand Charlotte has about 340 acres for the Boeing plant. Greensboro can open up over 1,000 acreas near PTI so there would be plenty of land for expansion. Three interstates that extend to all regions of the country, the FedEx hub, a nearby aviation school, TIMCO aircraft maintenance and a lower traffic passenger airport are other key advantages that makes Greensboro the city to beat in NC, But if any city in NC gets it, I agree its good for the whole state.

Greensboro officially submitted its bid today which is starting to make some national headlines. One thing to note...even though over 40 cities are bidding, Boeing only sent requests to 15 sites across the country and Greensboro is one of those 15 sites. Greensboro has a good case, including a resume that includes aircraft manufacturing (HondaJet). The challenge will be incentives

Charlottes key is the intermodal yard that will open up in spring that easily connect to the ports, is on the airport and designed to transfer shipments and lure manufacturers by making a seamless Air-Boat-Rail-Interstate all at 1 site.

our large amount of air traffic means direct flights.

American Airlines is the worlds largest airline has the worlds 3rd largest airline hub that is a huge Boeing customer.

More air service means more options to have more air cargo.

Yeah, but the Triad could really use the economic boost.
