Default Moving Company?

My wife and I are planning to move from Pa to Kernersville sometime this year. Does anybody have any suggestions for making the move as easy and inexpensive as possible? I'm not as young as I used to be (that's why I'm retiring) and we will hire movers but we don't have any ideas about which ones to use or not to use----Thanx

I am in process of moving from W-S to South Carolina (hubby got a transfer). We were referred to City Transfer in High Point - City Transfer and Storage. They're an Atlas affiliate, and AAA members qualify for a discount. I haven't gotten my quote yet, but they were highly recommended by two of my husband's co-workers. Waht I like is that they are a family-owned company and 100 years old.

We used City Transfer and Storage to move twice in a year and a half. We were pleased overall. Our refridgerator was damaged but they repaired it. They did pretty well and we would use them again. By the way, we recently learned that it is appropriate and somewhat expected for the clients to tip the movers. We had never heard of this before we moved. We felt so bad when we heard later about tipping the moving crew. Just thought I'd mention it. Live and learn.....

One other thing I like about City Transfer, and maybe this is typical for all, is that they only charge for what they actually pack and move. If something's included in your quote but you end up moving it yourself, it's not charged.
