Preliminary reports

Greensboro - 5 inches of snow. Secondary roads have been treated, but not plowed. It will be mid-day before the secondary roads are plowed, according to city official Mike Mabe.

Winston-Salem - 5 inches of snow. Road crews beginning to focus on residential streets.

Alamance Co. - 5 inches of snow. No major accidents blocking primary roads. Crews spent much of Sunday night pulling cars out of ditches along Interstate 40/85.

Davidson Co. -3-5 inches of snow. Few single-car accidents and no major accidents blocking major roads.

Surry County - 8 inches of snow. Wind is major problem. No accidents blocking major thoroughfares.

Stokes County - 7-8 inches of snow. No accidents blocking major thoroughfares. Several trees cleared from blocking roads.

Asheboro - 4 inches of snow. Several drivers stranded along U.S. 220.

Rockingham Co. - 4-5 inches of snow. Trees down throughout the county

Thomasville - 5 1/2 inches of snow.
