Per the Greenville News/greenvilleonline.com, the Bank of Travelers Rest has bought the La Bastide country inn property in northern Greenville County and hopes to resell it. La Bastide sold to Travelers Rest bank | The Greenville News | GreenvilleOnline.com It doesn't mention whether they bought just the inn itself, or any of the surrounding vineyards, which by now must have fallen into disrepair.

I hope someone with imagination and marketing smarts buys it, and it becomes our answer to the Old Edwards Inn or something along that line!

I'm with you, Upstate! I really hoping for a revival of that property.

The vineyards were scrapped as they were not fruitful for wine production. Go to Victoria Valley Vineyards for locally produced wine.

Oh, I was just wondering if they purchased that land as well.... Whatever pastoral use it could have, it would really add to the atmosphere of the inn!
