Hi Ya'll,

I'll be in G'ville soon, specifically renting a house in Simpsonville. I'll need to find the following and am hoping you'll have some recommendations. Everything doesn't need to be located right in Simpsonville but nearby is good.

>> Veterinarian

>> Electrolysis

>> What is the best internet service - is it called Charter? Does Charter also offer basic cable or is Comcast and DirecTV also an option?

>> Salon for manicure/pedicure

>> The landlords tell me there isn't weekly trash pick up....can one sign up for weekly trash pick up or is it not available in Simpsonville? I have to bring my trash to the dump right now and I'd rather just leave a barrel out on the curb if I can.

>> Toyota/Lexus mechanic (not the Lexus dealership...been there done that and never again)

>> Is there a main post office in Simpsonville or should I go to the biggest one in Greenville if I need to get a P.O. Box?

>> I currently use State Farm for my car insurance but I'll be needing to switch it to a local office as well as get apartment insurance. Do you recommend a local insurance agency or should I just shop around with all the big known names?

I'm forgetting lots of things but this is good for now. Thanks very much in advance.

I'll answer some of these. The others I'm not sure of. There is weekly trash service in the city limits. There are two post offices, one on main and one on Fairview. Charter is the largest internet provider, but dsl from Frontier is also available. Charter does have a basic tv package, but I choose directv. I own a Lexus, but I haven't chosen a mechanic yet. Maybe someone else can chime in with other answers.

Vet--We use the one on Fairview.....Cedar Lake

Trash--We cancelled service a year and a half ago but used Waste Industries, Palmetto is another company, we take it to the dump ourselves (we recycle a TON) since we live like 2 minutes from the Hipps Road one.

Post Offices--there are 2---one on Main St close to Library, one on Fairview in front of Home Depot

Insurance--we found rates much better than in GA when we moved here 2 years ago, we use the State Farm on Fairview/Jim McGill

Nails--Have yet to find a nail place I love.....I don't have time for it now anyway.

Internet--We have charter only b/c we can't get anything else and don't want dish/directv We have a bundle...cable/internet/phone around $100 a month total but have no special packages on cable....just expanded basic
