You can use a special filter or attenuator to block or weaken certain signals that may be too strong for the amplifier. There are specific attenuators that can weaken a signal 3db, 6db, or 10db whatever the need may be. And there is also a variable or adjustable attenuator. Or just use an ordinary splitter or two to weaken the signal strength. But amplifier overload may or may not be the problem. The appropriate type of VHF antenna is also a factor.
