If so, what would be a good cable length recommendation?
You can use a special filter or attenuator to block or weaken certain signals that may be too strong for the amplifier. There are specific attenuators that can weaken a signal 3db, 6db, or 10db whatever the need may be. And there is also a variable or adjustable attenuator. Or just use an ordinary splitter or two to weaken the signal strength. But amplifier overload may or may not be the problem. The appropriate type of VHF antenna is also a factor.

That is a good inline amplifier. It goes inside the house near a TV or junction box. But an attic or outside preamplifier may be a better choice. The Channel Master Amplify also has adjustable gain and is a very good preamp which sells for $69. Also has FM trap and LTE filter.

Channel Master Amplify 7777HD. Sells for $69 on Channel Master website. Adjustable gain. Not the regular 7777 model with fixed gain 30db. It will overpower.
