Ancient history, but a lady
Metioroligiat, Valerie Voss, who was a rock star at CNN 25 years ago showed up at WYRF about three years ago as a fill in and was gone in a few months.Wonder what that was about?
Maybe she just works fill in contracts rather than a permanent position. That is what former Good Morning America meteorologist Sam Champion is doing now since leaving the Weather Channel. He appears as the fill in weatherman on various ABC newscasts as needed. It seems NBC's goal at the time was to lure him away from GMA where he competed against their Today Show. But now NBC no longer owns the Weather Channel, and I believe Sam Champion has relocated from Atlanta to Miami, unless I am mistaken. And doubtful he would choose to return to local TV unless it was major market such as WABC in New York where he first gained notoriety.
watched the WYFF Facebook announcement video - Chris Justus is a great meteorologist - looking forward to this winter
Very likable personality but I would prefer him to calm down just a bit and get to the point a bit faster. He tends to ramble on a bit too much and give long winded explanations that could be a bit more brief and concise. But he is already very familiar to local viewers in the market and well liked overall so that was a good choice to promote from within rather than search outside the market.
We really like Chris, and are happy for him. I'm glad that they chose someone local and already established. Now if we could only teach him that 'southward' and southbound' aren't the same thing!
Good for him. I think his winter weather forecasting needs work, but other than that hes pretty good. (Although it seems every weather person is adding drama these days to their forecasts.)
