The best thing you could do for your little area is put a ban on payday lenders. I drive through Easley every day and have counted 17 on 123 between Greenville and Liberty. If you cleaned that up, you would have plenty of open retail space for the town to prosper.

Official construction re-starting of Easley Town Center to occur in a little over a week. There will be a construction kick-off party for it:

Great to see! This area seems to be developing in a more balanced way now, instead of concentrating EVERYTHING in one road/corridor like so many other cities do.

Does anyone else have any inside insite to what other retailers are looking into opening in the new center? (Besides Wal-mart) I also wonder what this will do to the other side of Easley where the old Wal-mart and Bi-Lo is? That side of town is already run down.

Yes. Expect Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Dick's Sporting Goods, Red Lobster, O Charley's, Best Buy, Ross, Michael's, Kohl's, Shoe Carnival, and several others. I have the site plan with all of the tenants listed. I can't share it though. These tenants are subject to change of course. I'm pretty sure the Walmart on the other side of town will close. It might get replaced by Sams or Target. That part is just a rumor though, so I can't confirm anything.

This sounds great. Yes the old Walmart should close and a Sams or Target moving in could really help that side of town. I would hate to see a old vacant Walmart building there.

Awesome. Is this a sign things are picking up in construction and development?
