How is the residential construction market doing in greenville right now? Do the future employment prospects look good? What about rental home prices?

In spite of the recession I still notice residential construction going on. As far as the employment outlook that really depends on the field. If you have a background in manufacturing then you might be able to get a job in one of the manufacturing related companys that are here like Michelin or BMW. Healthcare is another area that you may find a job at Greenville Hospital System. There are other smaller industries here as well.

However at this time SC is experiencing one of the highest rates of unemployment rates in the US. There are a lot of people showing up at the job fairs when we have them and they are applying for minimum wage jobs. Not sure what city you are coming from but if you are interested in moving here make sure you have a job before you relocate. Otherwise if you already have a job where you currently live I would keep it and wait to see if the SC economy improves.

As far as rental prices here, compared to other citys I think the prices are good.

I think the employment situation / work situation here is tough. I have a friend that lives in Florida and he told me he hasn't gotten a call in months. My point is that the economic downturn is affecting everyone. In my opinion it's not that the Greenville economy isn't doing well, it's that the US economy isn't doing well.

Ryan Homes took over our former Poinsett Homes neighbourhood about 3 months ago and since then they have sold 7 houses.

Ryan has been selling well in our community. They've had 3 or 4 houses sold and under construction consistently over the past year. There is only one lot left here.
If good or bad are my choices to rate Ryan Homes quality...then I say good. I've been in a Ryan home for almost 3 yrs now and I am very happy with the house thus far. I'm not as happy with the landscaping. I've had some drainage issues and my lawn is never going to be golf course smooth.
