Hi everyone, My family and I plan to move south from RI. My wife has employment in the Charlotte,NC. area, I would like to know if it's better in SC or NC. and is the commute to Charlotte manageable from SC. we will buy a house but we want to rent for awhile first to make sure we like it down there, I have been up here for 50yrs and I can't take the North anymore, Corruption,Taxes, I truely believe the true Americans are from the south. my wife has family in the SC and VA, MD area. can you give me any advice on nice areas to live, My son is graduating HS so all of my children are grown, 2 of them might travel with me, looking for at least a 3bed home. thank you
If your wife is going to be working in Charlotte and you are interested in info on living in SC/commuting to NC, you might want to post your questions in the "York and Lancaster Counties" subforum on the South Carolina page. That is the area of South Carolina just over the border from Charlotte--very fast-growing communities (like Fort Mill) that many people find as more affordable options to Mecklenburg County, NC (where Charlotte is). People who work in Charlotte but want to live in SC generally relocate to this area.
