I want to be cremated because I'm allergic to pine.

I just lost my mother, and my family and I decided to bury , not cremate her. Imagine to have mum or grandpa in an urn in the living room or in the garden..yikes! and besides I believe it's not possible to mourn decently a few ashes.

Both of my parents and my grandmother, well everyone in my family that I know except for 2, my brother and an uncle were buried.

The 2 that were not were cremated, and I do think it was for cost concern.

Myself? I want to be buried. I know people are going to jump on me for this but I want a body for the resurrection and to me, the mere thought of burning a body just sounds wrong.

I did not like that my brother was cremated, but my older sister made the final decision as she was bearing the cost. The funeral home did allow us to view him and I didn't really want to see him in the way that he had become.

It was bad enough the FBI called me to view his body and confirm it was him.

We scattered my father's ashes at one of his favorite places. We wouldn't have been able to bury him there.

My husband will be cremated this coming Monday. I am having a little bit of a hard time with this but the cost of being buried the traditional way is VERY expensive. He did mention he wanted to be cremated once or twice so I guess it is okay.

It seems to be the done thing now to be cremated.. personally I hate it.. and think its too final.. my grandmother is in a lair with just one other, so I might book that lair, as no one else wants it ...

I have no quibble with your desire to be buried. But "I want a body for the resurrection" sounds as if your god is not capable of remaking your human form from its ashes.

I have arranged to be cremated.

But I am in favour of lots of people being buried because of all the archaeological information it will provide in the future. We have learned so much of what we know about the past from digging up the graves of those who in former times...though even as recently as the late 1700s. The people who have their bodies buried now will provide knowledge of our present era when their bodies are dug up and the contents of their graves analysed in the future. These bodies will provide a treasure trove for science and history.

Maybe it sounds that way. It is just how I feel. I am sure He will be just fine with the cremated, seeing as the wine came from water, etc...
