It occurs to me that as parents and pet owners.......we are entitled to show our kids and our pets love....in the manner that seems most appropriate. Some of us kiss and comfort a kid who falls down and is crying and some say....something like...."get up, you're not hurt....be more careful next time". Some ignore a trembling and terrified dog and others try to calm and comfort it. I am not saying which is right....but I know which type of parent I was and pet owner I am.
And now ...... cyn I do understand the anxiety....even tho you are looking forward to the visit......so much is packed into such a brief time.....it cant possibly meet the expectation or need. I hear the Beatles singing "Let It Be".....it is good advice.
I went over to my garden plots a while ago.......super hot....probably 91 or so....and super jungle style humid. The okra is out of control......I only needed two plants at most....I have about 8. I think I might pull a couple out. I picked some beautiful Japanese Egg Plant.....my other crops are all doing well. The garden is my therapy and my sacred space.
Glad it went well and that she sees and points out the progress.
I just got done (for now) trimming the dead fronds off the grove of banana trees in the back yard. Hot dirty work. I was shamed into it.....my neighbors who are fastidious and fabulous landscapers were doing theirs yesterday afternoon.....and their already looked like a disney land park.....whereas mine look like a "Swamp Thing" movie set.
That's the post I was referring too.. smh I have no idea what happened to my quote..
That is a big problem with not talking in person--so many misunderstandings! But for the most part we all do quite well at expressing ourselves...
As you would expect it has been crazy here with 5 more people in my home. I took Thursday off and now I find out the kids are all going out on my step-sons boat for Thursday....they invited me but I'm already tired and after working tonight I don't think I need a day in the sun! It's to hot for me to be out on the lake....so maybe I'll just pick up around here...it is in need. Then the kids will be back next week and they Charlotte on Thursday so will probably sty here until Wednesday. I'll probably work that Thursday. Time seems to short for sure. Time to walk my dogs--have a lovely day everyone.
Yes, there are lots of chances for misunderstandings in on-line communications............and there maybe honest differences of opinion and it is not always due to misunderstandings.....but we do manage to get along.
You pace yourself and dont over do....it sounds as if you have a handle on it. Have a good day. Having a down day at home on thursday maybe just what you need in this busy week.
Oh my--I am a little over whelmed..or a lot maybe...not bad but as elston mentioned earlier, a lot of socializing in a short time. A 2 1/2 year old is like a blender without a lid--I do love her just wish I had that energy! Her mom is worn out by the days end! My daughter and I did go through some of the cabinets and did a lot of separating items from trash, to donations to going out to the garage. Now to figure out what to do with the cabinets--another time!
Enjoy your family-visit, cyn. Wow, 2 years old is just a whole lotta energy! elston - yes, on the yardwork, my wife and I are easily out-done by our neighbors, too. They want to pick weeds on our side of the fence and spray weedkiller, too!
The biggest problem with online is WE CANT HEAR EACH OTHERS VOICES!! (Being able to hear a voice makes all the difference)
and see facial expressions.....eye brows, smiles and pauses and volume.....signs of sarcasm or apologetic all that stuff.
