I picked this up today after a few weeks of research. I wanted a smaller carry option; something that would be easy to conceal even with shorts and a t-shirt. This is what I settled on and so far, I love it. I put some rounds through it today and it felt great. SMOOTH trigger pull and very accurate. I put both .38 spl and .357 mag through it today. The .38 was very easy to shoot through it, the .357 had a pretty nice kick to it. Still manageable though. Overall just a good little gun. I'm happy to add this to my collection and plan on making this my new everyday carry.
I love that gun, too. It's just that I'm so used to slipping my little Kel-Tec .380 into the front pocket of my jeans or shorts, it would feel way too big. But that is a great carry gun. Just recently bought a Ruger .357 myself. The GP100 SS with 4" barrel. Sweet shooting gun and a little easier on the hands due to the weight and size. It stays in the night stand.
Would think that the kick from a .357 in a 17 oz gun would be brutal. If I owned and carried one, might load down a bit and use mild loads, or perhaps .38 +p's. However, at this time could not get one if so desired. It has not been approved for sale in California yet, although the LCR in .38 special has been.
Nice! It's hard to beat a classic snubby wheel gun. Is there a flush hammer or is it DAO? Not that it matters for practical purposes. (I'd look it up buy my employer blocks all the good sites - no offense City-Data.)

DAO, less stuff to get snagged on when your concealing it though.
Yep, the LCR is a great gun to conceal. I have a S&W 442 that is hammerless that I sometimes carry, but my favorite all time carry gun is a Kimber Ultra Carry. Yeah, I know, it's bigger and isn't nearly as easy to conceal but it's with me most of the time. I do have a Kel Tec 380 that fits in a pants pocket when it is T Shirt weather, but I don't have much faith in a 380, even with Cor Bon ammo in it.

It is. I've shot .357 mag loads out of little pieces like that, and of the three of us shooting it nobody could stand more than about five rounds before our hands hurt so much we had to move on. IMO these are better suited to hot .38 loads.
However, to each his own. If you have meathooks that can take the beating, have at it.
Any light weight revolver will have a lot of recoil when shooting 357 Mag ammo, but that is the ammo I would carry in the LCR, and I would shoot it a bit to see where it is hitting. Yes, the recoil may hurt a bit, but you get over it, and there certainly is no permanent injury. I saw an attorney get shot on national TV five times with a 38 special and walk away from it. If you hit someone in the brisket with a 357, chances are pretty good he is not going to walk away.
Kel Tec PF-9. I was a little weary when I purchased this light weight pistol. but it gets the job done. it jammed the first 25 shots but broke in very well after my 3rd box. Honestly yall should check these out. Great defense weapon and fun to shoot. I believe it's still the lightest 9mm. Surprisingly very accurate as well. However I'm not a big fan of the grip.
