This morning I awoke to a lovely surprise: large, fluffy snowflakes falling to the ground. It's a pity they weren't sticking too much. I muttered to myself about how somebody must have tampered with Pat Robertson's anti-snow machine... or perhaps it has failed after so many years of use. Goodness knows how much maintenance must go into keeping the anti-snow/anti-hurricane machine in top form.

Last wintery-season marked one of the first years that I can remember seeing so much snow here since 1996. And now? I'm thinking we're looking at a repeat performance of last year. Yes, last year was relatively small compared to other places, but even an inch is a blizzard around these parts.

That being said, my fellow Hampton-Roadians, I implore you to drive safely and carefully should the roads become snow-and-ice-ridden.

For those of you who can't drive in snow/ice, please stay off the road. While this may sound harsh, there are going to be enough accidents from people who don't heed this advice. Don't let yourself be one of them.

For those of you who can drive in snow/ice, act like everyone around you has never done so... because more than likely, it's true.

That quote can also apply to just driving in general.

I was shocked at the snow today, and at the fact the weather guys somehow missed it LOL I'm really hoping for some snow on Christmas. =)

Default It's still here

I'm in Virginia Beach. We still have lots of white stuff on the ground...but now it's all ice. No more fluffy snow. I look at some of the very tall trees around the house with ice on the branches and I hope, "Please don't let that limb crack and/or fall".

Be careful out there.

I understand we aren't done with the incliment weather. My walk into the shipyard at 0545 was a wee bit cold. I hogged the heater at the quarter deck til my jeans were nearly ablaze, but what the heck...I thought I deserved that bit of warmth. LOL

Over here on the western edge of Virginia Beach, all is white again. Can I put in an order for it to stop now before it gets all messy and dangerous?
