I live in Moyock but I frequent Chesapeake/VAbeach. I'd like to find some places that I can take my wife for good eats. I'd like to find some small out of the way places that have great food. I was kind of thinking of the Food Network show Diners/Drive-ins and Dives. Where's your favorite place and what do they mainly serve? Do they have a specialty? Bon Apetito!

Family owned are the best. Virginia Beach-Croakers on Shore Drive, just before the lesner bridge traveling east to the boardwalk. Jimmy Buffet decor, great seafood and nicely priced. Open at 5pm.
Surf Riders (3), but the one at Taylor Landing on Shore Dr. towards Ocean View is the best and scenic dining at the marina. Little cheaper than Croakers, but the food is good.

On virginia beach blvd near rosemont, my husband and I frequently go to Reginella's. It is a family owned Italian restaurant. Great food! I always get the gnocci he likes the stromboli. Very reasonably priced as well.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for. I've seen the Reginella's and wondered before if it was any good.
I've eaten at La Bella Italia on Laskin Rd near the beach. I thought it was excellent. I especially liked the little italian bakery/grocery attached to the restaurant. I highly recommend it. I don't know about the pricing as I was at a rehearsal party dinner and didn't have to pay for my meal. Not being Italian myself, it is what I would imagine is very authentic Italian food (but hey what do I know!).
I've heard of Croakers before but have never eaten there. I love seafood so I will let you know when I try it. Thanks for the input! You guys are great!

Malibu Mac's at Redmill Commons. The theme is Gidget era surfing and the food is southern Californian themed. Great food! Good prices! No other place like it around.

Yummy nachos (that queso sauce!! yummo!) and their Jamaican jerk chicken wings are standard fare for us. My husband likes their fish tacos and "rippin rice bowls."

Fish Tacos were just reviewed in the Virginian-Pilot this weekend. Looked some decent restaurants if you like to make fish a dish!

I love Charlie's Seafood. It doesn't look like much but their she-crab soup is to die for!

Chicks Oyster Bar has a new menu with a Baja fish taco with blackened tuna that it to die for. It's served over black beans and rice. They also have a fried fish taco and a soft shell taco, but I haven't tried those yet.
My husband loved the new crabcake sliders.
