This story about the Acura is dissapointing. I am looking into buying a 04 - 06 Acura TL in the next couple of months and I know I wont be able to afford Hall Acura's price tags. @ the OP, stay away from the small used dealerships in this area, they are worse than the big ones!

I've dealt with Priority and Hall recently and both have been pretty decent. I think anywhere you go, you need to know exactly what you want in mind, do your research, and has for the carfax history report. If they won't give it to you, walk. Also, if you're a woman, bring a man along with you. Sad but true...

I'd recommend starting your search on cars.com or autotrader.com. I've purchased a few used cars off of information from those sites with great results. Most dealers, small and large, post their inventory there and private individuals list there as well. You can set it up to search a certain distance from your location and set a lot of specific parameters, such as mileage, color, etc. It seems that there are more deals to be had up near the DC area and I've driven up there and saved thousands compared to what I could find locally. As others have said, be sure to do your homework and I recommend paying the small fee for unlimited reports thru carfax.com if you are seriously looking. I came across several cars that had been rebuilt and even one that was rolled over. If it wasn't for the report, I would have never known. Good luck!

Thank you all so much for all the good advice! I didn't even know about the carfax report thing.

Default Other Website

There are also some local website that don't have all the "fluff" stuff and are much more intuitive to search. Try www.autoandtruckmarketplace.com. I always pickup their magazines and their website is pretty good.

Actually I bought my car from Carmax and am quite happy with it. They have always treated me well, and the car runs great.

Hall sold me a brand new GMC that almost killed my family and I. It was brought back to them on several occasions, and even the BBB said that the vehicle had safety issues that made it a lemon under Virginia law. Do you think Hall took it back.. Nope, Ended up costing me thousands, and a bankruptcy. I would never do Business with Hall Auto, (Tidewater Imports DBA Hall Auto).
