Officials will let Ebola spread.. That is the US policy.
Ebola will rapidly spread from Texas owing to
Not putting exposed people in isolation. Patrick Sawyer in Nigeria infected dozens...yet the 1st Ebola
Patient came into a hospital twice. Sat in waiting room, met with doctor and nurse? Had symptoms then was sent home.
The doctor and nurse both got Ebola from Sawyer. But no one is in
Isolation now in Texas except for index case.
Here a stupid official explans why:
Fromm CNN
But Gupta pointed out that the people identified as contacts aren't, as protocol, quarantined unless they are symptomatic.
Frieden explained that people who have Ebola are not able to spread the disease unless they are symptomatic.
"We don't want to isolate parts of the world, or people who aren't sick," Frieden said, "because that's going to drive people underground and make it harder to contain this outbreak.
Translation everyone is free to mix till AFTER signs begin. So not till AFTER we are sure some has Ebola will they be isolated.
Hello???? After signs means they are already shedding billions of copies of the virus.
Now we know, in Texas at least, when confirmed Ebola case meets and has physical contact they are free to simply call in temperature twice a day.
The key words in Queens Medical article I read were
The hospital cautioned that “the patient’s history and clinical presentation do not appear to be consistent with Ebola,” Hawaii News Now reported.
Gee what the F?
By the paper account there should be zero mention.
But no. For engineered reasons we are being led step by step down a path someone planned out.
Today, the NY Times is reporting that Ebola has not been ruled-out, though they add that another condition could, of course, be responsible for the symptoms presented:
In a possible infection case in Hawaii, state officials said Wednesday night that a patient was in isolation at a hospital in Honolulu while being evaluated for “possible symptoms that may be consistent with Ebola.” The state’s Health Department said it was in the early stages of investigating the patient’s travel history. The department said it was possible that the patient could be diagnosed with a condition other then Ebola. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/02/us...T.nav=top-news
Considering how much exposure Hawaii has to a visitors from all over the planet, I don't see how it can be kept out of Hawaii. Shutting down the tourist industry isn't gonna happen so you can't quarantine the state.
For what it's worth, I did see an article where someone from the World Health Organization said the death rates will be significantly lower for Ebola in places that have good health care. A lot of the current toll is due to the lack of care available to the people who are getting it.
I would suspect that looking to limit our own personal exposure to Ebola may be the best we can do. So, lots of hand washing, maybe even open public doors with a handkerchief such as they do in Japan. Face masks may be a new fashion accessory.
