My wife and I both went on Medicare in 2012, with Part D drug coverage. It's my understanding that we can change Part D plans for 2013 with no penalty. (Right?) If I enroll online during the open enrollment period with a new Part D provider, do I need to do anything with my current Part D provider to make sure it gets cancelled at the end of 2012? Thanks.

From my experience in dealing with my parents medicare plans - no.
Just like switching telephone #'s, the new provider will automatically disenroll you from the previous one.
Of course if you want to call your previous one to let them know you're not going forward with them, that's fine too. But generally most people (in my experience) don't.
Thanks, sounds good to me. I have no interest in calling 'em if it's not required.
