If you don't feel stressed, I don't see how it can possibly be stress. It could be depression, but if you aren't feeling depressed, then rule that out.
How old are you now, if you don't mind. I saw a big cut off in my energy levels after a certain age.
Also, how much/often do you drink. This is also age related though.
And don't forget the thyroid. Many people who have hypothyroidism have significant lack of energy, and your thyroid can get out of whack at any time in your life. Have your TSH and F4 checked.
My girlfriends husband had prostate cancer and is a survivor. About a two years ago he would constantly complain of being tired. He went for a check up and was told that he was fine and remained cancer free. He was still chronically tired and insisted that something was wrong. He went for another check up and again was told he was fine. This went on for a year until finally a good doctor found out that he had Leukemia. It's doubtful that anything is seriously wrong at your age but the moral of the story is listen to your inner voice and move on to someone that can help you rather than listening to some incompetent MD just earning a paycheck.
