Is this like an American Pie joke?

Unless your chugging down a bottle of the stuff at meal time I doubt very seriously you could tell if your normal canola use is causing you harm.

EVOO for everything but deep frying.

We use olive oil, coconut oil, or walnut oil in our house. Try to use coconut oil as much as possible for the medium chain fatty acids, which are supposed to be healthier for you.

I've not had a bad experience, just made a health decision for myself.

Sorry, I wouldn't own it.
I only use olive oil and not that much.
Someone gave me a big Avacado Oil for Xmas, darn, thought it was wine.
I'll look that up...I think its probably good for us, too.
I've known about cold pressed oils since the mid 70s...nothing new to me.

well...i was wondering if anyone here actually experienced bad symptoms...

but in terms of fear mongering...well i say there is a difference between paranoia and common sense. i argue it is important to distinguish the two and make informed decisions of importance.

and i wouldn't just brush off everything form DR. OZ as useless and judge on case by case basis. i actually found some of his information useful. but if some people feel he is quack, that's how people feel, i won't argue against that...

but to be fair, even the fda's been accused of being inconsistent and unreliable. so bear that in mind...

i feel some people in america have never been exposed to the gmo issue so they are ignorant on the topic.

there have been warnings from different medical sources and claims that canola oil can cause brain fog, damage neurology and lead to multiple sclerosis. maybe that's fear mongering and not sound medical warning...

if people decide the warning is just quackery, i can only say that i hope for their sake that they are right....

Interesting reading (and yes, I know he has an agenda, duh):

Fat Head » Butter vs. Canola Oil: Spot the Real Food

I avoid corn, canola, soybean, cottonseed, etc. oils as much as possible. Olive and avocado are fine in certain situations.

Dr Oz is nto a "real" doctor.. Just like Dr Phil was not a "real" doctor... If you listen to these wackos you will kill yourself in half the normal time by doing what they say

How many glasses a day for how many years do you have to drink in order for it to cause 'brain fog' or MS?
