Oh, just some of the things you say. Primarily your, at least seemingly, obsession about working out.

I have a young 30 something cute lady doctor. I always joke with her when it's time for my prostrate exam.

A male or female does not matter.

In addition to having an in-depth education and rigorous training, a doctor, who is a male, will know personally how things are supposed to feel and function. I'd take it as an advantage.

If you ever need to see a urologist, it could be difficult or impossible to find a female urologist.

I suggest you tell yourself this whole problem is silly and quit worrying about it. If you have a good doctor who listens when you have a problem, that's the most important thing.

as a male, I have had physicians of both genders. I've had a male MD do a digital rectal prostate exam and a female MD do a penile exam for VD. Both were not comfortable, but gender did not matter.

I agree with the poster who stated it must be the "gay thing" with males. Chances are very high that the doctor is heterosexual anyway, so I still do not see the discomfort with male/male MD patient examinations or treatment anyway. Us Americans seem to have a lot of hang-ups. No offense to the OP, but the fear of homoerotic overtones (with males specifically) we see all around us seem to make me wonder about the protester

I don't really care if the Dr is male or female, I just want them to have warm hands.

Depends. If the medical issue is with something that affects a specific sex, then it might be best to se a doctor of that sex. Heart attacks affect both sexes, so both sexes of doctors would be fine to most folks. Breast cancer in a female and she'll probably be more comfortable with a female doctor so she doesn't feel like he's just staring at her boobs, not listening, has idea what it's like to have breasts, has never had a mammogram, etc. Now this - like most things in life - isn't true for everyone.

Meh. Women can be the same way. I know plenty of women who would never in a million years have a massage from a woman.
