A male doctor would be less intimidating as far as the judgment factor when seeing your privates. You can say doctors are doctors, but they are humans first and foremost. It is in our nature to judge anything and everything at first sight.

Everyone should act professional, but I'm like you. I like female doctors for some reason. They are "family" practitioners. If that makes you more comfortable, go for it.

A male or female does not matter.
Of course it matters. Females usually have thinner fingers. But that is a small (I would hope) issue in the bigger picture.

BTW, which exam does your lady doctor perform when you are prostrate? Or are you referring to a particular organ which is prostrate? As best I can recall, all examinations of my prostate gland have been done with me bent over.

As long as he doesn't end up with both hands on my shoulders when checking my prostate, I'm fine with a male doctor.

why because you are afraid he might see something he has not seen before, knows about, and is more familiar with than a female doctor?

That makes perfect sense!

I could care less. I have nothing that they haven't seen before.

My urologist is a female. I love her because she has smaller fingers. (Plus, she is a damn good MD)

its probably ok and quite common but just be aware; your blaming someone else for your low self confidence.
