I'm curious, has anyone seen any article that says whether these kids were vaccinated against polio or not?
Article says a certain group of viruses comes into play here, but polio is also virus caused....
Except that it's not "currently" showing up. It's been on the CDC's radar since 2014. By 2015, the CDC still had not responded to FOI requests submitted a year before:
Except that it's not "currently" showing up. It's been on the CDC's radar since 2014. By 2015, the CDC still had not responded to FOI requests submitted a year before:
The suspect virus is an enterovirus, and it is transmitted by infectious respiratory secretions, such as saliva, nasal mucus and sputum.
I am not sure what information is expected from a FOI request that has not already been made public. There is no conspiracy to hide anything.
The virus is not new. What is new is that more people are having neurologic symptoms from it and the reason for that is unknown at this time.
The reason for the FOIA requests by agencies and news media was that the CDC was uncharacteristically closed-mouthed, and not returning calls. Most recently, this was last year, three years (now four) after the first "outbreak."
From the article which follows:
Internal emails show CDC investigated what could be triggering the AFM paralysis in some kids, including West Nile virus, insecticides, international travel, and vaccines--particularly oral polio vaccine.
This disease is leaving most kids who contract it paralyzed. We should know what the CDC knows when they know it, and we should know what they're investigating.
What's most troubling is that the CDC doesn't know (or they're not saying yet) how this disease is spread--from person-to-person? Via a vector?
No one is talking about a "conspiracy." But four years out, telling people to thoroughly wash their hands, and to cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze is not enough.

Why put "outbreak" in quotes?
What do you think the CDC is hiding?
How this virus is spread is no secret. It is a respiratory infection, which may have no symptoms at all or may look much like a common cold.
"How does the virus spread?
Since EV-D68 causes respiratory illness, the virus can be found in an infected person’s respiratory secretions, such as saliva, nasal mucus, or sputum. EV-D68 likely spreads from person to person when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or touches a surface that is then touched by others."
It is not leaving "most kids who contract it paralyzed". Most who get the virus do not get paralysis from it, and the absolute number of cases of paralysis is small. EV-D68 has not been found in all cases, so there may be other viruses involved.
Sharyl Attkisson is a conspiracy theorist par excellence. Her article implies the CDC is not doing anything. That is false.
"CDC is actively investigating AFM cases and monitoring disease activity. We are working closely with healthcare providers and state and local health departments to increase awareness for AFM. We are encouraging healthcare providers to recognize and report suspected cases of AFM to their health departments, and for health departments to send this information to CDC to help us understand the nationwide burden of AFM. CDC is also actively looking for risk factors and possible causes of this condition."
Edited to add: oral polio vaccine can cause acute flaccid paralysis, but the US does not use oral polio vaccine. The polio shot contains killed virus and cannot cause paralysis. The US cases are being tested for polio because the reappearance of polio in this country would be a public health emergency. The US cases do not have polio.
