Hello everyone,

For the past two weeks I’ve had this horrible itching on the tops of my feet and toes, but only at night.
I have no rash, bumps, peeling skin, etc.

Not even a hint of an itch on my feet all day. It only occurs late at night when I feel like I want to fall asleep.

I’ve Dr. Googled it and can’t find anything that makes sense.

Have any of you had this before? Sudden nighttime feet itching? If so, what can I do for it. It’s maddening.

A lot of times you can get itchy skin without a rash in the winter due to dryer air conditions. The itching may start in the extremities. I usually get skin itching starting in late January or early February. The best bet is to try a lotion with AHA to see if that helps. If not, try Benadryl or Zyrtec. The reason you feel itchy at night is because your body’s defenses start to decrease. Usually for me lotion two times a day and Zyrtec helps. Sometimes I may still have to take a Benadryl or hydroxyzine at night.

The same thing happened to me when we moved from Houston to Missouri almost 20 years ago. It was the first place I had lived since childhood that actually had any Winter to speak of and the associated dry, cold air. When I got into bed at night, I would experience a lot of itching. It took me a while to figure out what it was, but when I did, I used to cover myself in lotion, and that helped a lot. I never noticed it during the day, only when I got into bed at night.

Thank you everyone. I’m a big lotion user normally.

I really hope you’re right and it’s just seasonal. I know our bodies change as we get older but this is definitely not a welcome one.

Use some hardcore foot moisturizer. I had this problem too and using a well rated moisturizer worked wonders.

Try Gold Bond either powderer lotion.
Also is it just an itch or do your feet feel numb, hot, or pins and needles?

Mine have been doing that, too. Only in bed as well. My skin is really dry lately, so I think that's why.

Do you have a humidifier in your bedroom or a device to measure humidity? You might also find that getting a humidifier in the winter helps, but you don’t want to overdo it.

No numbness or tingling. No humidifier needed. We don’t have forced air.

I’m going to try the Gold Bond tonight before I go to bed. Let’s see how that works.

I swear it’s so annoying, to put it mildly.
