Prince Charles adopted the praying hands and Single nod gesture. I don’t see anything wrong with that. It seems courteous to me.
I have always been big on a handshake and living in South Carolina, I am not alone in that. But the praying hands and head nod does seem to be the bet alternative.
Well, in some cultures, the thumbs up is the finger.
So, I believe hand gestures are likely out. Even in the UK.. What we generally think of as the "Peace" symbol in the US is the same as the middle finger here. Though I believe the hand is facing the opposite way?
I say the thumbs up. If someone in America thinks that means I am giving them the finger, well they can just take a hike.
